observe the fasts :-
I don't know about the custom of fasts. "Observing the fasts" means that someone is watching people who are in the fasts? This is a religional custom. So, if someone wants to follow a custom, nobody needs to control and check if he is having the fasts (no eating), I guess. It is a matter of a self-control.
=====================================

MY ANSWER :-
Observe the fasts-Pray to appease the God in a traditional way by skipping a meal or two(fast)for the well-being of their husbands

MY ANALYSIS :-

Fasts are usually performed in Asian Countries(mainly India). It is a religious ritual dating back to many centuries. Under the Hindu Mythology ,the devoted ,cultural and traditional wives pray for the well-being and longlife of their husbnds by keeping fasts(remaining hungry for the whole or semi-whole day)in a bid to appease theAlmighty .The wives believes that to serve their husband is one of their primary duty (also one of the chief marriage vows during the rituals comprising Hindu marriage) afterwhich the husband and the wife are considered to be one person in essence.

Spiritual Ignorance
What is "Spritual Ignorance" standing for?

Context:

A king, who has conquered the six enemies (Lust, Anger, Avarice, Spiritual Ignorance, Pride, and Envy) of mankind, becomes the master of the whole earth.

My Answer :-

Ignorance about spirituality/religion

My Analysis :-

A perfect person is one who has conquered/done away with the six vices of lust, anger, avarice, spiritual ignorance, pride and envy.Hence, after imbibing all these qualities he rises above mankind /no more remains a common person.
Spiritual ignorance means a person who has lots of vices in himself and cannot differentiate between the good and bad, does not believe in The Almighty, religion, sainthood, sermons and the like.

If I were to pen down my opinion with regard to as to who can be the perfect candidate for the post of “Fine Arts Librarian” , my inclination would be towards the former being Mr.Xiang Chen .The reasons for mentioning him to be my perfect choice are many which shall be analyzed one by one :-

Firstly , though Mr.Chen does not seem to have a strong theoretical academic background as he is merely an undergraduate but he seems to have strong credentials and experience with regard to his field which encompasses music , fine arts and many activities centered around it .

Secondly, having regard to the Dorchester University’s eligibility criteria with regard to the aforesaid post of Fine arts Librarian , they have laid down two ( 2 ) stipulated guidelines which says categorically that 1) The University to give itself a word –wide publicity with regard to its collection of early Asian Musical Instruments and the collection of its recent artifacts which it has amassed through donation .The second criteria being 2) The University wants to raise money to improve and update its entire fine arts program , including its museum which obviously indicates that it wants to raise the requisite funds through publicity , shows , concerts , seminars et al .Hence , giving it due analysis to the core , I can say that what the University exactly harping upon is not the theoretical aspect of a persons eligibility criteria but his proven credentials and qualities who can uplift the image of the University all the more and give it a world wide publicity .therefore , in my opinion Mr.Xiang chen , seems to be the most suitable candidate , since he is a person conversant in English ,Mandarin , Chinese, Cantonese and Japanese .Hence , looking from the perspective of profound business development , he seems to be the ideal choice .Being a linguist adds a feather in his cap , as he will be in a better position to understand and communicate with people .Moreover , majority of the languages he knows are mainly Asian Languages , hence he can relate to very easily with the people belonging to the Asian Countries .Further , being an accomplished musician himself , he is in a better position to give a wide publicity to Dorchester University’s theme and works .Moreover , if we intently observe his other credentials ,he seems to be a versatile person , a Multi-Tasker and multi-talented who has a proven experience of work in the Japanese consulate as well as organizing shows .

However , though Mr.Chen does not hold a degree in library science , I think a little bit of practical training to Mr.Chen will suffice the purpose .In conclusion , it can be said that his devotion towards the University is highlighted beforehand as he has already suggested a chamber music series , featuring Dorchester’s early collection of early Asian Instruments , inorder to raise funds .Hence , I feel , that Mr. Xiang Chen seems to be the ideal person for this post as I believe , qualification , degrees and thesis alone should not be the only criterian for evaluating a persons skills. Regard should be given to his value and quality based work and skills he is possessing and overall input and the contribution he can give to the Organization where he is working .

However, it should not be presumed that I hold a totally adverse viewpoint of the latter Ms.Eise Bogart , for though she has a strong theoretical background as her forte , inspite of that she is not a great multi-tasker, a linguist and a versatile candidate as Mr.Chen.
